The Designer
A drywall contractor of 30 years, Ross Whitty, designed and developed our patented Dustfree Sanding System that removes up to 99% of the drywall dust whilst sanding ceilings, 97% from walls and uses ordinary sandpaper or mesh. He also developed our Dust Less Internal Drywall Sander that removes up to 99% of the dust whilst sanding internals.
The products are light, easy to use, extremely effective, so that most operators will need minimal or no protective equipment or clothing, depending on the expertise of the operator. Further development has seen this concept develop into a package that incorporates our Inline Filtering System and optional vacuum recovery system designed for fine plaster dust (Vacuum unit supplied to Australia only).
The Dust Problem
One of the worst jobs in the building trade is the sanding of drywall. Plasterers are showered with dust, which covers any uncovered parts of the body, causing irritation and discomfort. Wearing a mask is uncomfortable and difficult to breathe through. Perspiration in the mask further adds to the discomfort. The dust cuts into the eyeballs and even after the eyes have been washed out with water, residue is still there the next day. Wearing goggles is uncomfortable, they usually fog up and are generally difficult to see through.
